You’ve got that Whole Foods $$$ option! OXO has a $25 muffin tin made from ceramic with a non-stick PFOA-free coating that is decently scratch-, stain-, corrosion-, and abrasion-resistant. It’s way more of an upfront investment, but with the use of a little bit of oil, you can make your muffins paper-cup-free and have a durable tin that will have a long lifespan!

Baking soda is biodegradable, multi-purpose, and usually economical. It feels almost silly to list it here! But we mention is as part of an air freshener solution and as an ingredient for many DIY cleaning supply recipes. Check out Arm & Hammers sustainability and corporate responsibility.

While not everyone is a fan of silicone, if you’re someone who uses it in the kitchen, there's tons of options out there. Use it as a sheet or as a bottom-liner for deeper pans.
Some quick notes on silicone: 1. There’s some green washing — it is made from sand, but it require chemicals commonly found in fossil fuels to turn the silicon into what you use 2. Some claim it’s toxic while others (including the FDA) agree that it’s 100% food safe — this is up to you to decide on whether you want to be cautious or take the risk 3. It’s not easily recycled (plus recycling in general is messed up right now) so use it as long as possible and gift it to someone else when you’re done!
The product linked below is an affordable, accessible Amazon Basics version (affiliate link), but there's lots of other brands out there.

One of the first sustainable books I bought, Raleigh Briggs focuses on natural housekeeping, gardening, and herbal first aid. It felt approachable during a time where I didn't have much time or money to invest in all the fancy 'eco-friendly' brands I was seeing advertised through social media. Not everything recommended worked out for me, but it made it approachable and fun to try out some of the suggested baby steps to making sustainable choices at home.

Sustain Your Shit sticker, the uncensored version! If you're feeling bold and don't mind some swearing in your life, let that uncensored shit out.
The sticker uses a material made from 95% sugarcane fibers and 5% of hemp and linen. They are 100% biodegradable and will decompose completely. The medium strength adhesive will stick to most surfaces, and they're suitable for indoor & short-term outdoor use. Resistant to scratches & splashproof (water only, not oils), so maybe put it somewhere where it won't get too much intense liquid contact.
